Deck Setup

A deck is made up of 26 cards of 2 copies of each card. Split a 52 deck into 2 piles. One pile of all black cards and one pile of all red cards. Each player gets 1 deck.

Zones

Deck - This is your deck.

Frontline - This is where you draft soldiers.

Survivors Pile - This is where you place cards that you win in duels or clashes.

Basic Terms

Victory Points - Earn these to win the game.

Draft - To play a soldier card, place it from your hand face down into the frontline. That card is drafted.

Soldier - All cards are this and are drafted into the frontline to earn VP.

Duel - Two soldiers going head to head.

Clash - A chain of duels.

Gameplay

Set Up

1. Flip a coin. The winner of the coin flip becomes the “priority player”.

2. Each player shuffles their deck (deck) and draws 5 cards.

Game Phases

1. Drafting

2. Rank Comparing

3. Concluding

1. Drafting

Each player will draft a soldier. Once both players have drafted, the duel will begin. Each player will flip their card up. Each player will resolve any “On Flip” effects. Order is determined with lowest rank first. If they are the same the priority player goes first. The game moves to phase 2.

2. Rank Comparing

Compare the rank of each card.
>If one rank is higher than the other, that player with the higher number wins the duel. >>The game moves to phase 3.
>If the ranks are the same, start a new duel next to this one, this is called a clash.
>The game moves to phase 1.

3. Concluding

Resolve any “On Victory” (when you win) or “On Defeat” (when you lose) effects. The winner puts all cards drafted this turn into their survivors pile, they then earn 1VP for each card put into their survivors pile this way. Each player draws a card. This marks the end of the turn. The game moves to phase 1.

Other Rules

1. If you have 0 cards in hand, draw 3 cards immediately.

2. If the duel is a stalemate move all cards move to the survivors pile (these cards are not marked as victorious or defeated, therefore do not trigger on victory/defeat).

Terms/Keywords

Anti-Clash - Clashes cannot begin from this point forward, this negates the "Forced Clash" ability. If ranks are tied, the duel ends in a stalemate.

Assassinate X - This card wins the duel if the opponent's rank is equal to or greater than X.

Forced Clash - This forces a clash to begin regardless of the outcome of a duel.

Quick - This card's abilities resolve first regardless of rank. If both soldiers have “Quick” use normal priority ruling.
